Refund & Cancellation Policy

We want you to be confident in your purchase. This policy explains when refunds are available, how to request one, and how long the process takes.

Evaluate Before You Buy

Preparoo offers a free tier that gives you access to sample study notes, flashcards, and practice questions across multiple topics. We strongly encourage every candidate to use the free tier before making a paid purchase to confirm the platform works for your study style.

Refund Window

You may request a full refund within 7 calendar days of your purchase date, provided you have consumed less than 20% of the paid content (measured by study notes viewed, flashcards reviewed, and practice questions attempted).

After 7 days, or once more than 20% of paid content has been consumed, purchases are considered final and non-refundable. This threshold exists because digital study content cannot be “returned” once it has been read.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your Preparoo account and include:

  • Your full name
  • Registered email address
  • Razorpay or payment reference ID (from your receipt)
  • Date of purchase
  • Reason for the refund request

We aim to acknowledge every refund request within 2 business days.

Refund Processing Timeline

Once a refund is approved:

  • Within 3 business days: We initiate the refund with our payment partner (Razorpay).
  • 5 to 10 business days: The refunded amount is credited back to your original payment method (credit card, debit card, UPI, or net banking). The exact timeline depends on your bank or card issuer.

Refunds are always issued to the original payment method used at checkout. We cannot redirect refunds to a different account, card, or wallet.

Scenarios

Payment deducted but access not granted. If your payment was successful but you did not receive access to your paid plan, email us immediately. We will resolve the issue and grant access within 48 hours, or issue a full refund if access cannot be restored.

Duplicate payment. If you were accidentally charged twice for the same plan, the duplicate charge will be refunded in full within 5 to 10 business days of our confirmation.

Technical issues preventing use of the platform. If a verified technical issue on our side prevents you from using the platform for a sustained period, and our team cannot resolve it, we will issue a prorated refund based on the time lost.

Change of mind. Requests based on change of mind are eligible only within the 7-day refund window and subject to the consumption threshold above.

Non-passage of the CAT exam. Not passing the CAT exam does not qualify for a refund. However, you may request an access extension into the next exam window by emailing [email protected] with proof of your exam result. Extensions are granted at our discretion.

Account suspension for policy violation. If your account is suspended for breaching our Terms of Use (e.g., sharing login credentials, attempting to scrape or redistribute content), you are not eligible for a refund.

Cancellation

Preparoo paid plans are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. There is no recurring billing to cancel. If you decide you no longer want to use the platform after your refund window has ended, you can simply stop using your account — no further charges will be made.
